Update and resolution. After calling Toyota NA direct a few weeks ago and being passed around the system I finally got a hold of Wilde Toyota Service center. They are the only Toyota Dealer in SE Wisconsin with an EV tech. They checked and apparently there was only two RAV4 OBCs available in the North America. They verified that it was a new component. They quoted me $5K to replace the OBC & It also comes with a one year P&L warranty. I decided to move forward and had them repair the vehicle. So it seems that there is still just one new RAV4 OBC in the system.
The replaced part was listed as G9090-0R011 D4 CHARGER ASSY, ELECTR
I have also changed the setting on my wall charger to 20A. I plugged in my RAV at home last night and had no issues getting a full charge. Though, when I plugged it in at home I had imaginary anxiety. My brain fully expected the charger to trip 3-4 times. Seems that minor trauma is now in my head.
One interesting side note. They did have to keep my car a few days longer to reprogram it. Seems they had to confrere with Toyota Service HQ to get the programming correct. They also said they needed time to do a recalibration. I theorized that maybe the OBC was a Tesla version and not an original RAV4 or maybe there was some issues caused by the previous repair. They also told me that this failure is rare in this vehicle and they wanted to do to take a couple days to study it. I informed them that the online community sees this type of failure often. Maybe it seems low because of the low production volume.
For now I'm going to just keep driving my RAV4 and cross my finders. Thanks for your support!
