Blinking Reverse Indicator

The "[R]" reverse indicator on the display blinks when I put the RAV4 in reverse. My wife says it didn't do that when we first got the car last August. When I asked the dealer to check it out, their solution was to compare it to another RAV4, which also blinked. Of course, that assumes the other RAV4 didn't have any problems also.

Is this normal behavior?

I had my 2013 since August.
Are you referring to the white square that encloses the "R" when reversing?
I think mine blinks as well,which coincides with the beeping sound ( that you only hear inside anyway).

Your wife might be confusing the R with the P ( steady solid white square around ).
I will check later and post some updates

My 2007 Prius would blink the reverse indicator the same way as the RAV. Sounds like she could be mis-remembering...

Just a follow up.
The D, B, N and P have a solid white line when they're selected.
The R on the other hand, blinks.

It's the same with the RAV4 EV and our 2011 Toyota Prius Four.
