A newswire I came across:
http://www.bnd.com/2014/12/03/3544255/talk-to-reporter-about-your-electric.html
Talk to reporter about your electric car
December 3, 2014

has an IL reporter seeking plugin drivers in her area.

I put the detail response I got back from her posted on the evdl, see
http://electric-vehicle-discussion-list.413529.n4.nabble.com/Reporter-Wants2-Talk2-Belleville-IL-plugin-drivers-td4672923.html

If you plugin in her realm, please consider enlightening her to the 'ways of the EV force' :)

Get ready for a storm from this Wired article that I saw on the front page of Yahoo.com

http://www.wired.com/2014/12/ev-charging-infrastructure-2/

We've all shared similar experiences, but this person seemed to do the extreme.
Using the EV with the least range.
Not having access to overnight charge.
Completely relying on public charging stations with only using Leaf's GPS locater, rather than PlugShare. Even Charge Point's site shows if they are in use or not.
The only thing that could have been worse is if they bought a Leaf with a 3.3kW charger.

Jeez!

That was a very interesting article

Unfortunately it was a hit piece similar to the one written about the Tesla in the NYT a while ago. The author did everything she could to make the Leaf look bad, including starting her first day with only a partial charge. I have rented a Leaf, and I NEVER started any trip without a full charge and a complete knowledge of available charging stations. This was while staying at a hotel that didn't have a charger (I eventually convinced them to run me a 120V extension cord).

The author almost duplicated the NYT's driver running in circles to try to deplete the battery when he did the same thing searching a parking lot looking for a charger.

Unfortunately the comments section had more ad hominum attacks than cogent responses (that is to say that the cogent responses, of which there were a few, were burried in piles of ad hominum attacks from other contributers).
