Install new meter for charging from PG&E at home? or no?

PG&E has started changing out the "dumb" digital NEM meters for NEM SmartMeters. I got one straight away when my system was installed in December, but my in-laws had theirs changed out in February on little or no notice. So, a SmartMeter may be in your future. Anyway, you should be getting monthly True-Up statements, right? That should include your accumulated monthly net usage for your Peak and Off-Peak times. I looked at E-7 and it's very simple - Peak/Off-Peak Winter and Peak/Off-Peak Summer. Peak is only M-F and the hours don't change Winter to Summer. Very old-school I must say.

Anyway I'm pretty much done with my spreadsheet. I just need to clean it up and put in some more comments so people know what's going on and can use it. It includes the TOU schedules and rates for E-6, E-7, E-9. I should probably put in E-1 also because calculating Tiered usage costs by hand is a pain even for E-1. I should graph that just for kicks to show how punitive the Tiered billing system really is.

Wow, I feel pretty silly now. PG&E already swapped in a Smartmeter...in my defense, they didn't notify me before or after, and it looks almost exactly the same as the TOU meter...
I look forward to your spreadsheet. I'm having the electrician put in 'hooks' for a future 2nd meter for the EV charging while he is replacing the main panel and adding an EV-charging subpanel in the garage, just in case two different metering plans makes economic sense. I may also be adding to the current PV system. The wiring and the cost calculations both become complex, quickly!
