Center display brightness

Does anyone know if there's a way to adjust the brightness of the center display, especially at night, other than just changing it to display info about the song that's currently playing (which is a black background) ?

The ambient light sensor on the dashboard should automatically change the system between Day and Night mode, but this is probably not what you're talking about.

There is also a brightness & contrast control. From the home screen, touch the gear icon at the lower right, then General. Touch the Display button at the top. The controls are at the bottom left of that screen. The inner left/right buttons change the current setting and the outer left/right buttons switch between Brightness and Contrast. The adjustment range of brightness did not seem that big to me.

There is also a dial to the left of the steering wheel that sets the brightness of the instrument cluster. If you turn the dial all the way up it clicks past a detent. If the dial is in this position I don't think the center display dims when it is dark outside.

Hold the center mechanical button for three seconds (or more).

It will get less bright :lol:

I meant while still allowing the passenger to operate it....
