My RAV4EV has been in the shop for a week- and they recently opened a case to have the Toyota Engineers to take over on the issue -
last week, I had the Check EV system Go to Dealer Immediately message- and went to the dealer-
the message disappeared, so they said to drive it around to see if it happens again. So I drove around, and then tried to charge my car and see if the message would come up again. this time my car would not charge.
So I drove back to the dealer and they would not give me a rental for free- they said the car would have to be in the shop for several days and or undriveable before they would give me a loaner.
Finally on New Year's Eve they offered to give me One day of a rental and said they would call me January 2nd to let me know the status. I had to call for the status and was told that they needed to open a case with Toyota, and have their Engineers come to trouble shoot. (oh yes, I was told all but one of the error messages were fixed - the one that doesn't allow charging is what has not been resolved. I was told to call back on Friday if I did not hear anything by 2 pm-
So, I finally called and left a message saying I do not plan on paying for the rental and to please call me with an update of the status. The dealer finally agreed that I will not need to pay for the rental- but still no word on what the problem is.
From checking my entune app, still looks like they cannot charge the vehicle, but I have seen the battery charge change up a couple of times- I am not sure how they did it without it showing being charged or charge completed or whatever emails not coming to me. I think they still don't know what the problem is.
Hmm, how long does it normally take Toyota to diagnose the problem?
