Update the NAVI with European maps

I asked my local Toyota dealer in Austria for the Map update. They asked a specialist of Toyota Austria. The answer waslease aks XMSirius for an update !?

Today I visit my local Toyota dealer for the recall update - he got a usb stick from Toyota Germany (I am in Austria) and they got it from Toyotoa Japan.
On the stick was the firmware relase,the "Tesla Powertrain Diagnostic RAV4 Service" Software and the TSB 0043-13.
The Problem was just the missing activation code for the Tesla Software. So I left my dealer after 3hours without the update.
I hope they will get the code the next days. I will inform you.

Hi! I hope your update will end in success, if so I will follow up. Yesterday my Jdemo-kit for Chademo-charging was sent from Quickchargepower in US. Maybe installed before Christmas!?
I'm "expanding" my use of the RavEV and now reallly see the use for a quicker charger possibility. About the map-update there is no news.
Your SIM change have still made no difference?

Clemens, Paul -- I am moving to Madrid in a couple months and am wondering about your experience shipping the RAV to Europe. What company did you use to ship your RAV to Europe (and what was the approximate cost)? Any troubles? Some shippers specify no vehicles may be shipped with active recalls. The wiper recall may prevent me from shipping it and without knowing when that will get fixed I need to look at other options for my RAV.

Any advice about a charging station? I've read that many homes have limited electrical power (not to mention expensive) and so I'm thinking about buying the EVSEupgrade.com with a Europlug. My juicebox has a NEMA 14-50 so I'd have to change it and I don't know if I'll be able to get 10kW service there anyway. From what I can piece together thanks to Endesa offers charging on the street with a Europlug, so the upgraded Toyota EVSE may come in handy.

You're not going to find 240 volt 50 amp single phase service in Europe (required for "10kW").

It will be possible to find some 16 or 32 amp / 220-230 volt outlets (they are red or blue socket).

Unless the Juicebox has been changed, it doesn't work on European 50hz electricity.

You're right Tony, for our RAV4EVs there is max 32A that is possible to get. A lot of new charginglocations are now combined ChadeMO/CCS/AC (22-43kW). Because RAV4EV only can accept single phase 230V, we will never get more than approx. 7kW out of the AC-chargers.
Lucky me - I have the Jdemo installed, and can use DC charging up to 50kW.

For home-use there are small chances to get more than 32A charging. Even if the new standard (in new house areas) is 400V into the fusebox, it won't help us.
I do only have my main charging-experience from Norway, but I do think it's similar all over Europe.

welcome to europe!
I shiped my car with the german company berlinmotors.de - they cooperate with www.cfrrinkens.com - price was about 1000$shipping and 400$ insurance- they did a good job.
I bought the car in june 2015 - the powertrain recall was allready released but there was no problem with shipping - last week my toyota workshop did a succsessful update of my powertrain ecu (They got the software and tools from Toyota Japan). They do there best to support me.
I would do this import again if nesscesary -you cant buy such a car in europe.

About Charging:
In europe the most homes have 16A 400V 3Phase (about 11KW) -you can use just one phase - thats 230v-16A or you can transform the 3 phase 400V to one phase 240V with 40A (I ordered such a transformer in China) biger homes have up to 3 phase 32A -factorys and biger shops up to 63A.
In the german speaking countrys the electricity suppliers don`t like if you take 32A from just one phase (but it works ;-) ) in UK its allowed -i don`t know how it is in Spain.
If you use a 230v 16A charging cabel you can charge your car over night.
for Charging stations you need a Typ2 to Typ1 adaptercabel (about 250€)
There are a lot of variable amperage charging cable - but not everyone works with the RAV4 ev - if you need more informaton send me a pn.
For the beginning I woud buy a variable charging cable up to 16A with Schuko connector and a Typ1/Typ2 Adapter:

Fast Charging:

Sure would be! If I didn't have to still be a working man, I'd be all over it too. It would be SO much fun to have a small caravan of RAV4 EV's and tour Europe together.
