Hey folks,
Blue 2014. Battery still gets in the 110s on the Tony Test last I checked! (we charged it mostly on 110V all these years!)
Charger system malfunction - not charging, fuse replacement needed. Charges when being towed/ coasting.
2nd owner, bought it from a Toyota Dealership (lease return) in 2016 and it has served us well while we were in California and here in Hawaii (Weʻre on the island of Maui).
We are leaving the US this summer and so sadly need to let go of it. It had a charger system malfunction error, the one that required complete replacement of the OBC, and Vlad helped me with the repair and it worked again for a while, but then stopped charging again - this time the diagnostics indicate blown fuse. The market is too small in Maui and noone out here knows about these cars, especially not enough to fix it, so I will be shipping it back to California. It will be coming in to San Diego May 30th.
It is a great car and I am very confident that this issue can be fixed easily - enough ppl have done it and myself would if I get the time but we have so much going on now that it is unlikely that I will.
To be really honest, as long as I can make back the $3000 odd that the whole transportation process would cost me, Iʻd be happy with that. Itʻs definitely worth at least $6K once the charger is fixed.
Iʻll have like 2 weeks in California (LA) before we head out, and then weʻll be doing a cross country road trip to Miami and flying out from there.
If anyone anywhere between San Diego and LA is interested in buying it and/or helping me work on it (Iʻll pay for the help) please reach out!
