12V Hot Lead in Rearview Mirror

Has anyone successfully tapped into the 12V hot lead in the rear view mirror? If so how difficult was it to get to? I'd like to power up a portable GPS unit from there without having to have a power cord lying on the dash.

I found a 12v accessory line up there. I used it to power my dashcam.

Unfortunately, I didn't document it or take photos. But in short, there's a wiring bundle that traverses the roofline from the driver side to the mirror. I probed the wires in there with a multimeter to find one that was only hot when the car was in on/acc mode.
