I just sold before the extended warranty ran out. Paid about $1800 for an 8yr/80,000mi Toyota warranty, which has just over 2 years and 50,000 miles remaining. Assuming the warranty transfer process goes smoothly, the new owner should hopefully have some peace of mind.

Firmware updated to latest version. Mine was the original firmware so I suppose it's surprising that the failure hadn't already happened.

So, they were able to pull an error code and they updated my firmware to the latest version. No new parts this time. Hopefully that"ll be the end of this gremlin.
