    Charger replacement project begins

Sounds awesome, and maybe optimistic. I hope you can manage to include a few photos as you go.

Hello to the Remaining Rav4 EV Owners Out There

The last rounds of motor replacements had changes that have made them more reliable. It's also a good idea to periodically check for water intrusion into the moter by pulling the speed sensor: https://youtu.be/XfncTZcsSHM If you can catch it soon enough, it's possible to save the motor. Good...

How I fixed my RAV4 EV On-Board Charger

Also, any shop doing AC servicing will have the equipment to reclaim the refrigerant, if it did turn out to be necessary. Environmental regs require it.

How I fixed my RAV4 EV On-Board Charger

Fred, I'd try contacting https://057tech.com/ in North Carolina. I don't know if they can help you, but if they can't, they might know who could. P.S. Also try https://recell-ev.com/ in Texas. I know that they are more into the RAV, and may be more helpful even if they aren't as close.

just before the extended warranty runs out - buy another?

92,000 miles. I got one other guy to give me a quote, but he insisted I come in to sign in person, which was not doable. No amount of negotiation would get them to budge.

just before the extended warranty runs out - buy another?

I was never able to find anyong willing to sell me another warranty when mr first one was expiring. I got close with a guy that @miimura referred me to, but he refused at the last minute. I've given up unless someone finds a lead for me.

Milage Range has dropped below 80 miles

These guys might be able to help you if you really need something: http://www.recell-ev.com/ I've corresponded with Chad a bit. They started out with the RAV4 EV, and sounded willing to help, but I don't have a need at this point.

    Introducing OVMS for RAV4 EV

I'm interested in hearing how it goes for you.

Blink EVSE blows out a pin on the Rav4 connector

You were lucky, I didn't notice until the heat had done damage to my inlet. Luckily, Toyota covered it under my extended warranty. I went with the Leviton 30a cable and connector to repair my OpenEVSE (the same one I put on my Blink a long time ago). It's a much more solid cable and plug than...

Repair techs cannot communicate with onboard computer

OMG! They didn't bother to notice the 12v battery was low? Isn't that the FIRST thing they should check as soon as they pop the hood? What kind of a clown car of a shop are they?

Repair techs cannot communicate with onboard computer

Definitely escalate. I'd say that either the dealer is completely clueless and isn't able to read the codes through ignorance, or there is something major wrong with the car's computers, which they should also be able to diagnose. In either case, they don't seem competent to service the car.

Milage Range has dropped below 80 miles

As the battery degrades over time, the "extended" part of the range is sacrificed to keep the "normal" range stable until there is finally no extended range left at all. After that, the normal range will begin to show degradation as well. However, the "Guess-o-meter" is not a great way to guage...

Toyota of Gilroy Comes Through Again

Ummmm...Spoke too soon. When I called back to execute the contract, I was told they are only allowed to do it in person, now. Dude there is totally nice, and is trying to see if he can work something out for me.

Toyota of Gilroy Comes Through Again

I'm at 91,000 miles and a couple of months until the Platinum warranty expires on my 2014, so I called a couple of places looking to extend the warranty. First I called a local dealer who kept insisting that should just trade it in instead, and finally gave me a quote for 3 years/36,000 miles @...

Incorrect Date / Year on Radio

Sounds a little like the 2K22 bug. However I just checked my car and the date is right. https://www.theverge.com/2022/1/8/22873403/honda-acuras-y2k22-bug-clocks-reset-2002

ALL POSTS - 12-volt battery replacement

Yeah, I do have JDemo. After reading back through the thread again, I decided to go with the Costco 24F, and try your earlier idea of running the Pre-climate on a schedule to make sure the DC-DC runs every day. Maybe I will scale that back to a few days a week, I don't know. I plan to keep an...

ALL POSTS - 12-volt battery replacement

Now I've done it. Between COVID and my wife's semi-retired work schedule, she has been letting it sit for 4-5 days at a time intermittently. A couple of days ago, the car wouldn't power up all the way and wouldn't go into gear when she tried to go to work. When I got home, The battery read...

    2013 Rav4 EV Owner Since 2016 - Owner Experience

The GOM is based on your driving efficiency. The Tony test erases the driving history which is why the GOM reads higher afterwards. Since you do mostly fast freeway driving, your GOM readings sound about right for a battery this age. The battery naturally degrades as it ages, so this is normal...

Does EVgo no longer allow charging via JdeMO?

I think that any fallout from this would come more from liability for damage should a car or charger be damaged during a charge than trying to police use of their charging network. I suppose that EVGO COULD program their chargers to refuse JDeMO, but I doubt they would do that.
