Installed Fuel Door Popper From A PIP

It's not like someone's going to siphon the gas out of your tank; a push to open fuel door would be sufficient. Obviously it might be difficult to adapt to the current mechanism.

    Sport Mode

I find the blue background more soothing :D

Open Source CHAdeMO inlet for Rav4 EV?

It seems half of the effort is decoding the CAN bus messages, so I would be interested in a collaborative effort to decode and document the messages. From there people can go off and develop an open source CHAdeMO interface or do other neat things to monitor, report, and interact with the...

    12V battery replacements

Sorry I can't answer your question about replacement, but I would hazard to guess that anything your dealer did to assess the "health" of your 12V battery is based on age or mileage and has little correlation to its actual capacity.

RavCharge, a solution to charge timer and entune woes

Happy (belated) 1st birthday RAVCharge! It's been a great year. Renewing for a second...

118 Miles at around 60-65 should be ok right?

I tend to use normal mode with my son in a car seat in the back as there are no vents back there. The higher fan speed helps to keep the air mixed between the front and back

New owner as of yesterday and have a couple questions

If the sound is repeatable the dealer should be able to fix it. I had an intermittent rattle in the dash right above the speedometer. It eventually went away on its own after several months.

    Grabby brakes?

This is part of Toyota's brake assist. If the car interprets your quick braking as emergency braking, it will apply more force to the brakes to help you stop more quickly.

RavCharge, a solution to charge timer and entune woes

Love the SMS interface. Shortcuts so I could text just 1, 2, 3, or 4 for the various commands or requests would be great. :D

Because they are providing you with a free car with the purchase of a Tesla drivetrain and battery? ;)

    iPhone 5 Contacts sync Issue

Those actions are disabled when the car is in motion. Silly as it just forces you to pick up your phone.

Solution to avoid range anxiety - Carry a generator

You would get ~ 15 mpg based on the specs for that generator.

Solution to avoid range anxiety - Carry a generator

Just rent a small SUV. Most rental places don't have a problem with pets; they just want you to clean the pet hair up. Rent it, take your trip, and have a car wash do an interior cleaning. In the end it's going to be cheaper and easier than trying to use a generator to change your RAV4.

    Check EV System warning message

I've had this happen a few times over the last 8-12 months. Only right when I've gotten in the car and never while driving. I haven't had a check EV System message.

The J1772 Hydra - charge two EVs from one EVSE or circuit

I realized it was probably at 208V, but was confused why it would pull 32A (2x16A) when two cars are plugged in and only 30A when one car is plugged in. I guess the particular parts in each half of the EVSE are only rated at 30A while the supply circuit can go to 32A.

The J1772 Hydra - charge two EVs from one EVSE or circuit

Yes I've seen it. My work recently installed charepoint EVSEs that have a 6.6kW max output but two j-plugs that share the max output. Not realizing this I plugged in next to a model s and wondered why I was charging at 3.3 kW. Since they charge by the hour it actually makes quite a bit of...

    iPhone messaging not working

My Nexus 5 works with messaging without having to go through any special setup, but you might want to check the following when in the RAV4 and paired... Go to Settings... Bluetooth... Click on the equalizer icon to the right of the RAV4 listing under paired devices... There should be a list of...

    Battery Cooling for Summer

Interestingly, if you lock the door with the key you have to unlock it with the key. It doesn't respond to the key fob or the door handle sensors. If you leave with the fob it will beep three or four times. If it continuously beeps you've forgotten to put the car in park :o

    Removing low speed proximity sound

The regulation is currently not in effect so there is no legal requirement that your RAV4 emit such a sound.
