Drive unit should be under original factory warranty. If that is the only issue then see if the local Toyota dealer will replace the drive unit.

I would test drive it to the Toyota dealer and get the diagnostic in writing. Make sure there will be an EV specialist there when you go. NO, they do not all make that noise. Also check the heater. There is a list of things to check on here somewhere.

I would not expect to be able to purchase a battery until the warranty is gone. That does not mean Toyota does not have inventory or that Tesla will not make batteries when needed.

Even if you win a default judgement... good luck collecting. They do not just roll over and write a check.

Even with the warranty.... check that the heater works.

Use some superglue on the windshield or similar product from autoparts store. If the tires are more than 50% gone I would put on some cheepos. Paint scratches.... I don't know.
