The dealer only changes assemblies. Good thing you have a warranty or it would cost thousands. Be sure to check the fuses first though.

If it is not the contactor and it is out of warranty an OpenEVSE unit will work. I put one into an Aeroenvirement unit for a man with good results.

If the fobs are like the VW ones they need the full 3.3V of a new battery. 3V is within spec but no go.

I put an OpenEVSE board into a burned up aeroenviremrnt EVSE. The board is pretty universal. It most likely would work in the Leviton.

Fuses blow (fuse) strictly by heat. If the holder is a little loose it can make a difference. OpenEVSE originally used a 30A rated 3AG style holder. it got so hot at half current that they switched to a 5AG style for larger fuses to better dissipate the heat.
