Toyota buying back 2013 Rav4EVs?

I just got a letter (which was mailed August 1st, i dont get mail from that mailbox that often) saying that a particular sales person at Fremont Toyota was looking to buy my 2013 Rav4EV for "a good price" as a tradein.

has anyone else gotten a letter like that? I'm not interested in selling it (although i just got another vehicle, i still drive the Rav4 for virtually all local trips).

This is typical dealer trawling for customers. They say they will give you a good price on your trade-in so that they can sell you a new car. This has nothing to do with them actually wanting your EV.

I've got many letters like that for my Prius and my wife's Yaris.

I still get them for my 2013 Leaf that I turned in to Nissan. It is a scam to get you into the sales room.

The simple answer is, yes, the dealer in Fremont will "buy back" (they never owned it, though) you RAV4 EV... "if we make a deal" (somewhere, there will be that disclaimer).

I still get these on my truck that is 16 years old.
Always claiming there is sudden demand for this vehicle :roll:
