Anything for the poor neglected southern route - I-8 East from San Diego to Phoenix? So far I'm only aware of the Electrify America(?) chargers at Bank of America in El Centro, with only one Chademo plug. I'm considering approaching the owner of the gas stations at the Jacumba exit. He spent a ton of money to put a helicopter on top of the Chevron station. Maybe he will consider a few grand for an EV charger. That would close the gap for me heading east out of San Diego.

Not anything planned that I can see, however Plugshare says there is a NEMA 14-50 at DeAnza Springs Resort

Division Creek along 395 is finally live. Tested it myself. Plugshare says 100kw, but I only pulled 46kw, so not sure.
https://www.plugshare.com/location/230127

Also noticing a lot more EA sites. Almost too many to list. Here's a few notable ones.

A couple of new EA installs are started along 101 in Santa Maria and Solvang.

I'm not sure if Harris Ranch was mentioned, but it is an important Tesla site. EA now has 6 chargers there as well:

An EA also went live in Ojai:
https://www.plugshare.com/location/312598

One more important EA site is just outside of the California border in Quartzsite, AZ. It will augment the two 50kw chargers in Blythe and help bridge a rather big gap to Phoenix. Set to go live in May:

I thought all the CalTrans chargers were 50kW, so your result at Division Creek is expected. Boron and Coso Junction rest area chargers are also open.
Boron Eastbound: https://www.plugshare.com/location/305463
Boron Westbound: https://www.plugshare.com/location/305459
Coso Junction: https://www.plugshare.com/location/305136

Among all of those sites, Quartzsite is by far the most important. Also, the Harris Ranch chargers are all 50kW. This is very strange for EA. It's OK if you're having a sit-down meal at the restaurant, but otherwise it stinks. Especially since the Panoche Road (Firebaugh) chargers have been down for an extended period. That makes a 50kW charge through that section mandatory. It's really close to being faster to detour to 101 or 99 and charge faster on 150 or 350kW chargers.

That is odd. It does say 50kw on the Plugshare page, but at least one of the comments mentions 150kw. Some of the pictures are showing at least one 150kw charger. You might have to zoom in, but the label says 150.

Not sure what to make of it.

I did check out Coso on my last trip up to Mammoth. I got 40+ kw, but the battery was kind of full on the ID.4, so maybe it was tapering. Still, I wonder why Plughsare lists most of these as 100kw.

I don't know what to make of the Harris Ranch charger power. The EA app is quite clear about it. Plugshare is wrong about many chargers' power levels. I have even sent feedback on specific sites where the described power and the indicated power are different. They never changed it.

The Quartzsite EA station is open as of April 23, 2021.

The last of the CalTrans sites are slowly coming online. These are free 50kW single CCS + CHAdeMO chargers.

Westley is about half way between Tracy and Patterson on I-5.
Plugshare - Westley Northbound
Plugshare - Westley Southbound

Maxwell is between Willows and Williams on I-5 north of Sacramento.
Plugshare - Maxwell Northbound
Plugshare - Maxwell Southbound

That leaves only Erreca NB & SB (between Santa Nella and Firebaugh on I-5), Willows NB & SB, and Lodi Park and Ride. The Southbound CV Kane (I-15 between Yermo and Baker) charger has also been installed but not commissioned for a long time. I assume that they have abandoned the Lebec Northbound Rest Area since they put 4 chargers on the Southbound side and there is a way to turn around nearby.

Also, Harris Ranch EA has been updated/upgraded to two 350kW stations plus four 150kW stations.

I did see the Maxwell charger when stopping at the rest stop (i was surprised, i didnt know they had them this far north). I was northbound at the time. The charger is right in front of the enclosure for the restrooms. Theres only one of them (CHADemo & CCS). It appeared to be online but i couldnt test it.
