Text massaging not working 2015 rav4

Hi everyone. I recently bought a 2015 RAV4. I can gets my phone calls to work and all of the apps, but not the messaging. I have a droid max with android 4.4.4

Any ideas??

The messaging feature has always been hit-or-miss for me. I have a Nexus 5 with Android 5.1 and use Hangouts for text messaging. Sometimes messages that come through my carrier number in Hangouts will display on the RAV4, Google Voice messages and internet Hangouts messages never do. There's no rhyme or reason as to when it works but it does seem to work more consistently within the first few weeks after an Android OS upgrade.

This forum is for the RAV4 electric vehicles only and the 2015 RAV is not the same car as the electric version.
