You will notice that the unit you linked says "Not for sale in California". I believe that is due to the fact that it uses a transformer and rectifier and not a switching power supply. I suspect that the efficiency is too low to meet California requirements for plug-in power supplies. The Battery Tender brand has other units with similar capabilities and slightly higher price that meet the California requirements.

Does anyone know if the Cen-Tech automatic battery float charger could do the trick on keeping the 12 volt battery charged during a long period?
It's a lot cheaper.
