Range Extending Trailer

I was reading about the older Rav4 EVs and realized that there was a Range extending trailer made for it. Wouldn't it be fun to have one of these things work on our cars?

Sure, if it passed ULEV emissions and didn't void the warranty of the car's EV system. It's a pipe dream.
