Happy 2025 everyone! Hope its been going well and healthy and your Rav's have been acting ok in the colder weather! Cell imbalances, heaters and HV fuses don't seems to go well with our Rav's in the colder months... which brings me to my little glitch..

I haven't towed with the Rav in a LONG TIME and I needed to test a new LED trailer kit and I found my 4-pin harness was DOA... now I installed this trailer hitch and adapter unit myself when I first bought the Rav in 2014.. and towed ALOT back then.. but haven't in a a while.. the adapter gets its 12+ or positive from the rear cig as seen in the pic.. but the factory harness is DOA... no power at all.. ALL fuses up front and in the hood are good.. I haven't found a bad one..

Any sugestions?? I mean posiible a rodent could have chewed but then a fuse would have pro blown??

I've googled around and one post said something about a relay that controls that rear 12v cig??

Also, whoever though to put that fuse panel up underneeth the dash... upside down... with micro fuses... should be....

I'll leave it at that..

Multiple things to check: the rear power outlet (as well as the one inside the center armrest console) is fed via the power outlet relay and a 15A P/OUT-MAIN fuse, which in turn is fed via the ACC relay and 25A ACC-MAIN fuse. There's a 7.5A fuse for the power outlet relay coil power, but that is unlikely to have blown.

I'd start by checking the console outlet to see if it has power; if it's good, you have a wiring harness issue to the rear outlet. If there's no power to the console outlet, check the two fuses listed as well as the power outlet relay.

GM and thanks! I googled and looked around and saw the 25a fuse and its good too but didn't know about the relay (makes sense) but if the front cig is working fine then I wonder but I'll check here in a bit when I go out and look.

That wiring loom they have running to the back for the rear cig is really thin so I'm wondering if the + is fried somewhere in the loom, or something chewed but I'll check here in a bit after some coffee.

Thanks again for the info! (y)

I have to admit, I totally forgot about the cig outlet in the armrest

That thing's been hidden under her junk LOL.. and I was thinking the 1st outlet where everything get's plugged into upfront on cig1... but yeah, the one hidden in the arm rest is also dead too (which is good!)

But I've checked all the fuses up underneath the steering wheel and they are good.. so the 7.5a coil fuse is under the hood then??

I just did a viz inspect, i mean... when I'm all contorted up underneath there, I'm not there to lolly-gag.. but maybe next time I might have to tone them out if you say those little buggers are notorious for doing that?

Also, that center blue relay on ours is the back-up light LOL

Just so everyone knows ;) It's amazing how much crap they change between the two vehicles.. same relay/ position...gas/ice is cig/power and ours/EV is backup..

Engineers...

Update, its the top/relay pos 7 on our RavEV's.. fun.. and its actually bad!! Yay! Thanks Matt/Allflash for the troubleshooting tips and schematics as always! (y)

Hopefully this will help someone in the future if they do a quick fuse check and don't find anything, check the relay but just DON'T PULL THE MIDDLE!! It's the backup light!!
