Has anyone had any problems getting their Garage Door Opener to sync with the cars built in one? I try to link it with the one for my garage, it blinks like it accepted it but nothing happens. I also know that my opener is not one with a "Rolling Code" or a scrambling one.

Has anyone else had any problems? And if so, how did you get around it? I am thinking my unit might be too old, but that wouldn't make sense.

Does your garage door receiver have a learn button on it? Mine is quite old as well yet it has a learn button on the receiver board. You might have to remove the cover.

After you link the homelink transmitter in the car and it blinks you need to quickly push the learn button and then the homelink button again in the car and it should sync. At least this is how I got mine to work. Hope this helps! :)

Mine also has a learn button and I needed that. In fact, I had to press the car (mirror) button twice after pressing learn. And it works flawlessly.

The manual spells this out pretty clearly. I hate to ask, but did you follow the steps there?

I did, indeed. I went over it a few times. I actually tore my opener unit apart to find that button and it was sealed behind some rubber directly on one of the boards. Oh well.

Thanks a lot guys!!
