Hi JdeMO owners, have you been able to charge at ANY EVgo Chademo station since around mid-September 2022?

I can still charge at Electrify America CHAdeMO chargers, sometimes (not every time), but I cannot seem to get any EVgo CHAdeMo charger to actually charge. They all do the same thing:

1. Recognize the car and the state of charge
2. Light the light in the Nozzle
3. Blink the green LED on the JdeMO button one time
4. Stop charging with no error, saying "Charge Complete"

Is anyone else having the same experience? These chargers all worked very reliably until a September Charger software upgrade, evidenced by a new UI and visuals on the charger display..

We have had the same problem mentioned in this thread with at least the EVGO charger that is located in San Luis Obispo, CA in the Marigold shopping center. (It's the only DC fast charger in all of SLO.) The charger used to work properly until recently when some sort of firmware update was done. Now the charger starts and then stops immediately with JDEMO. Many of the EA chargers also exhibit the same behavior as well. I have to mention that a similar thing happened on some of the EA chargers (Paso Robles & Pismo Beach) that originally worked with the JDEMO when first installed, but after a firmware change on those EA chargers the chargers stop and then start immediately.

I messaged Tony Williams of Quick Charge Power and he is aware of the problem, but I'm not sure on how quickly he plans on resolving it. I would hope it would be soon as I use many of the EVGO chargers on trips out of the area.

I have the same problem.
in 2022 50% of fast chargers worked.
in 2023. 25% of fast chargers worked.
in 2024 I haven't found 1 that works on first try.
:(

I have found a workaround that sometimes works.

1. All the normal steps on the sticker.
2. Ensure that 'Extended Charging to 100%' is enabled.
3. Start charger to check if it will work without workaround.
- ( as we have all noticed, it usually says 'Charging Finished' or 'Charging stopped by vehicle' after 1 second).

4. Start charger again, as soon as the red/green light on the charging plug indicates that communication to the car has started:
- press the white button on the JedMo for 3 seconds, release, and repeat this until the charger stops with an error.
5. Start the charger again and it sometimes works.

6. repeat step 4&5 a few times if the timing isn't correct.

Something about cancelling the charge from the vehicle side, leaves the JedMo in a state which allows the next connection to work, but there is only ~5 second window to do this and it takes 3-4 seconds to generate the stop command with the white button.

good luck.

the last time i tried QC at the EVGO i use in Folsom, the same thing happened. That was about 9 months ago though and i haven't actually been able to test it since then. (the way i use the car now, its rare that i need to charge away from home).
