A thread on the Leaf Forum (http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=21127) mentions the practice of occasional 100% charging to "balance the batteries". Is this a recommended practice for the RAV4 battery? If so, how frequently?

I have given up on my "Henry" method of charging (http://www.myrav4ev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1721) because in accordance with Murphy's Law, whenever I charged to 100% I still had to recharge in the middle of the week as I seemed to take more side trips.

Having the cells slightly out of balance isn't a negative. The only time you really want them to be fully balanced is when you want to utilize the maximum capacity of the battery.

So, having said that, I would recommend at least once a month to fully charge the car and let it sit at 100% for a few hours at least. I would not do this if the battery were hot.
