RAV for sale - Orange County

All you say is true! ;) It's at QCC still, but I can bring it back to OC if that worked best for anyone. Tony low-balled me which I might fall back on if no one else is interested.

RAV for sale - Orange County

Hello - my RAV's motor is failed and needs to be replaced. I am not interested in the cost of that exercise, so I would like to sell it. It is a silver 2013 with roughly 155k on it. Everything else works, and the interior is in decent shape minus a little staining on the seats. The body is also...

My RAV4EV came to a GRINDING halt today

I had the same situation where it just died on the highway. Just got the bad news from QC Charge that my motor is toast. Tony gave me the award for most coolant found in a motor casing , which means complete replacement. Based on full LDU replacement costs, I am doubtful that I will be...

JdeMO Stops Charging w/Blinking Green lights at 40f?

I experienced this at the time you brought it up, and I just tried it again with the same result. This was on EVGO and Electrify America chargers. Have you been successful at charging since you reported this?

Preferred Dealers for Repairs / Warranty

Follow up to previous posts on my RAV 4 at Toyota of Carlsbad. I have had it there since the beginning of February for the Cruise Control issue. They were told by Tesla to wait for another drive unit and gateway computer, so they sent me away in a rental Corolla Hybrid (50+ MPG) and it stayed...

Preferred Dealers for Repairs / Warranty

They should ask you and not Tesla next time, because Tesla's response is that they should replace the drive unit again. What's funny is the service rep said they were going to use a "new" one instead of a rebuild. Everything I have heard on this forum says those do not exist. I have no idea when...

Preferred Dealers for Repairs / Warranty

I am taking my RAV back to Carlsbad Toyota tomorrow to fix the remaining issue with the cruise control. The new drive unit has been perfect so far otherwise. They left the JdeMO in non-functional condition last time, so I may need to swing by QC Charge on my way back whenever it gets done to...

Preferred Dealers for Repairs / Warranty

The drive unit was replaced. They held onto it per my request for an extra week, due to one issue they cannot seem to resolve. After replacing the drive unit, they could not get the car to go into cruise control. Everything else works. Tesla came back and said they would not be able to work with...

    Battery Degradation / Extended Charge

Unrelated to your original post, but thought it a fun coincidence that yours came off the line right before mine did (VIN 1655).

Preferred Dealers for Repairs / Warranty

Carlsbad Toyota took the RAV in on Thursday the 3rd. They found a bunch of 12 volt errors, so they had to replace that battery first. It was an original Toyota battery already, only 3 years old, so they gave me a 50% credit on it. That cleared the 12 volt errors. They sent off the Tesla errors...

Preferred Dealers for Repairs / Warranty

I got a hold of Tony Williams. He now recommends Carlsbad Toyota again due to a service manager change. I will have mine dropped off there tomorrow and will let you all know how it goes.

Preferred Dealers for Repairs / Warranty

Looking for recommendations on where to take a RAV with a Check EV message (JdeMO installed) in LA/Orange/San Diego County. Thanks!

    Orange County service

My RAV is throwing a check EV error and won't go READY. I need to have it towed to a dealer. Last time I needed this, I took it to Carson Toyota because no Orange County dealers would work on it with JDeMO. I'm just wondering if that has changed before I call Carson to see if they will look at...

Charging has stopped due to system malfunction message?

I had this problem fixed last month - see http://www.myrav4ev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2211 The code was CHGF078, and the costs were as follows: $3439.18 - Chargr Assy $28.96 - G48 Coolant $35.10 - Super Long Life Coolant $554.40 - Labor This was covered by the extended warranty. Carson...

    Onboard charger failure

This was my experience as well. No EVSE would work with the on-board charger. JdeMO worked just fine. The part was roughly $3600 on my invoice (covered by warranty).

    Onboard charger failure

Picked the RAV up yesterday. They replaced the on-board charger and all is well. They charged $300 to work around the JdeMO, which is a little high, but they did not give any hassle about it. Took 1 week from drop-off to pickup, with a free rental. JdeMO was fully functional on return as well.

    Onboard charger failure

Update: Due to life getting in the way, and not being dead in the water with the JdeMO ;) , I just dropped off the RAV at Carson Toyota yesterday. They have been testing it this morning (multiple charge interruption emails). I will update more as I hear back.

    Onboard charger failure

So this morning the onboard charger decided to stop working. It starts charging, then clicks off and on 4 times before giving up. There are no Check EV messages, and the vehicle starts normally. I have two different EVSE's, and both give the same result. Anybody have any experience with this?

Preferred Dealers for Repairs / Warranty

Did you figure out a place to get it serviced? I had a traction battery replacement done at Carson Toyota almost a year ago, and they worked around the JDeMO. See a few posts down for the story. Tony has a contact for the service manager if you want to reach out in advance. I had to have Tony...

Preferred Dealers for Repairs / Warranty

I did have an OEM battery. The last time I had an issue, Tustin blamed it on that and I let them replace it. It worked fine for 3 weeks until the traction battery failed, which was likely the real original problem. It may have helped having Tony "grease the skids" with the service manager...
