    Where Can I purchase contactors

Different Tesla parts have different restrictions. Many are "Over the Counter" and those don't need a VIN. However, I did a quick search at epc.tesla.com and found that Model S contactors that visually look like the Gigavac units do require a VIN to purchase.

Any shops in the San Jose, CA area willing to remove the Jdemo/Chademo

The fundamental problem that you are facing is that a dealer won’t have a reasonable solution for you if the contactors are kaput. They can only swap the whole pack and that is only a viable solution while the traction battery is under factory warranty. I am sure you will find that the Platinum...

new 12V battery dead after 12 months

Absolutely none. It's a drop in fit because the V6 ICE RAV4 uses the same battery tray and uses that size battery.

Any shops in the San Jose, CA area willing to remove the Jdemo/Chademo

Toyota Palo Alto has done two drive unit swaps on my car with JdeMO installed. They charged an extra $160 to move it out of the way during the work that was otherwise covered by Powertrain warranty or Platinum extended warranty. I have no idea about their policies today. I haven't taken the car...

new 12V battery dead after 12 months

If a dealership installed a new 12V battery one year ago, they should have a pro-rated warranty on it. I would inquire about that. If they don't give you any consideration for the short life of the the one they put in, go to Costco and get the Group24F Interstate battery. It will last a lot...

    Wanted: Touch screen

Facing a repair of thousands of dollars for an OEM head unit, a smart EVSE is not that much of an expense. However, I'm with you - if you can keep an original head unit in the car, you will a more functional vehicle.

    Wanted: Touch screen

    EVSE can do scheduled charging.

    Wanted: Touch screen

I am by no means an expert on ICE models, but I don't think there was ever an ICE RAV4 that used the home button interface like the EV. I think the 032 version is just an older rev of the same functional assembly. This seems to be confirmed by the Toyota part page below. See: "Previous...

Pictures from my onboard charger fuse replacement

I assume you have used the fused disconnect under the passenger seat before working on the high voltage stuff. The most likely culprit is failing to put that back correctly.

You're right. I don't see a way to add new entries to the ZeeMap from the 1st post.

    Swapping Seats in a 2014 RAV4 EV

The seat heater controls are unique in the EV. People have swapped for the full leather seats from an ICE RAV4, but the only practical way to retain seat heater function was to take apart the EV seats and remove the heaters and transfer them to the new seats...

    Rav4 2018 maintenance level needed

The RAV4 EV was only made for 2012, 2013, 2014 model years. You must be talking about a combustion RAV4. We don't have experience with those.

    bad battery repair

The most likely source of a "new" battery pack is from a car that has other problems like a bad drive unit or collision write off. Of course, by "new" I mean new to him, or a replacement battery for his car.

12V battery recharged, but RAV4 dead (won't even unlock door with remote key) - ???

After everything has gone to sleep, the current should be so small you can't measure it with an ordinary clamp meter. It should be 10's of milli-amps when sleeping.

12V battery recharged, but RAV4 dead (won't even unlock door with remote key) - ???

Check the fuses - including the one integrated into the positive battery terminal. Also, when you connect the battery does the voltage drop? Is there a spark when you connect the battery? The spark is normal. Not having a spark when you make the last connection to the 12V battery is suspicious.

    bad battery repair

Prius NiMH packs are completely different than the lithium batteries in Teslas. The fact that it's hybrid also mitigates the situation because the engine runs frequently, masking many problems in the battery. The Leaf generally has uniform capacity degradation, not imbalance problems, although...

    bad battery repair

Your traction battery probably has internal water damage. The change in weather probably caused internal condensation to move the moisture around and surface a new failure mode. Repairing the traction battery is unlikely to be possible or durable. Your best bet is to find a battery pack in...

Any reason for sudden battery health drop?

The range reading in the car is what we call a Guess-O-Meter. The number it shows you is dependent on how you drive the car. If you drive the car up a mountain and then recharge it to full, it will show you a ridiculously short range. If you then drive it down the mountain and recharge it again...

    Tax incentives

https://www.irs.gov/credits-deductions/used-clean-vehicle-credit https://www.keysavvy.com/ This company can broker a private party deal with fraud protection and process the tax credit so the seller gets a higher asking price and the buyer pays less.

$3000 Rav4EV project. BMS codes inside

The top layer of modules in your pack is probably OK. However, there is little hope of doing anything useful with the ones soaking in coolant. Also, replacing that bottom layer with modules from different packs is unlikely to be successful long term. Tesla packs have to be capacity matched in...
