Not necessarily. If it has a 240V winding, some will fire at 120V (although not necessarily consistently). On my system, the relay works at 12V from the power supply.

They are saying that it is the speed sensor, and that it can be replaced separately, possibly by the end of the week. I AM JUST GLAD THAT THIS HAPPENED WHEN I WAS PARKED, NOT WHILE I WAS DRIVING.
