Blink EVSE - Should I sell it?

I've been offered between $400-500 for it so far. I am fairly certain I can sell it for $500 now and later but if I wait, I'll likely get a little more.

Blink EVSE - Should I sell it?

I put my Blink unit up for sale on Craigslist a few weeks ago. http:// I just got offered $500. Should I take it? Someone offered me $500 last week and I said no but I'm tempted now. What does everyone think?

The smallest Quick 240V from two 120V outlets?

I agree with comments above and add that the current one I have uses 25 feet cords on each end which is usually overkill. Others have used 10-15 feet cords and done fine with them since most of the time you will be able to find outlets on different phases relatively near each other. (The closest...

Irvine Rav4 EV Mini Meet 09-14-2013

I'm in Irvine today and thought of an impromptu meetup this morning for coffee. Since the initial meetup last year, there's some new charging options in Irvine. The Quail Hill Shopping Center now has three 30A J1772 EVSE as well as a dual quick charger with ChadeMo and the SAE combo...

The smallest Quick 240V from two 120V outlets?

I bought mine at a local electronics shop for a few bucks. Here's one at Newark that should work, neon light.

The smallest Quick 240V from two 120V outlets?

Herr Prof. Dr. Bornstein, Hermann von Helmholtz is my favourite of the universal scientists in part because he's a physician physicist; I chose the name eHelmholtz for electronic Helmholtz. I like history. The quick240 or easy240 device is based on a schematic that was posted on the LEAF forum...

    Portable OpenEVSE at 40A

Mike, An easier way to do this would have been to buy a 40A relay like the one I used and replace it with the 40A contactor that Glenn used for your OpenEVSE. It would have been much quicker and much less expensive - just a suggestion.

The smallest Quick 240V from two 120V outlets?

This small Quick240V device is being paired with this small no frills 120V/240V EVSE based on OpenEVSE for my Volt. It's runs at 120V 12A and 240V 16A (enclosed in a 4x4x4 junction box) which is the max amperage the Volt can handle. I've set it not to trip any of the GFCI circuits that you might...

    EVSE question - weatherproof?

nemo, Many of the EVSEs are rated for indoor/outdoor use but to be installed outdoors, my understanding is that the unit has to be hardwired. My suggestion is to install the unit indoors in your garage, just inside the garage door; I think this is the most flexible installation location. If...

    Rav4EV sighting

Think I've seen that one too. I live near mira mesa and black mountain.

Random or not so random pairings?

This is today but it wasn't so random cos I parked next to the Model S.

    Portable OpenEVSE at 40A

Hi, Glenn! Welcome to the Rav4 forum. Please feel free post a photo of your build here especially if it's portable. Is it a 120V/240V one? Also, I just advertised this openEVSE build on the i3 facebook page for you.

    That's a good thought - I think you're right.

    Portable OpenEVSE at 40A

I remember following both of your BC2BC journeys with much interest! Oddly, what happened to me today doesn't appear to be popping a breaker cos the power to the EVSE was still good but the car just quit charging!

What 240V power sources have you used?

Ah, I know Glenn's work; he does a great job. I thought about using that enclosure but I think mine is a little smaller. Is your one from Glenn a 120V/240V EVSE like the one I built here http://myrav4ev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1013 or like Tony's Jesla? I was wondering if the OPs OpenEVSE...

    Portable OpenEVSE at 40A

Today was a good example of opportunity charging with an adjustable amperage portable EVSE. I parked the Rav4 in a garage with an available 120V outlet. I've used this outlet in the past to charge the Volt but for some reason, the Rav4 would stop charging after a few minutes. I decided to dial...

What 240V power sources have you used?

This is cool! I didn't know anyone building these for sale. What's the enclosure like? Can you take a photo and post here: http://myrav4ev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1013 I'm curious to see if someone made it more portable so I can learn and modify the one I did. Regarding 240V sources...

    Portable OpenEVSE at 40A

A forum member sent me a private message, asking questions about how to build one of these and I realized that he wasn't aware of the significant developments with the OpenEVSE and the resources available. Here are general links: 1. Project Home: https://code.google.com/p/open-evse/ -for...

The smallest Quick 240V from two 120V outlets?

On the 2 120V cables, I used nonmetal strain relief grips that screw on the inside and I also added PVC type cement for good measure. Something similar to this: http://www.waytekwire.com/item/24590/BLACK-1-4-STRAIGHT-CORDGRIP/ The L6-20R was an adapter to a Nema 6-50P which I cut off and it...

The smallest Quick 240V from two 120V outlets?

That's a great idea to test the Tesla UMC with a NEMA 5-15P using a NEMA 5-15R to a L6-20P adapter; I didn't think of that idea! that's why I sold the one I made and went with a more easily adjustable OpenEVSE http://www.myrav4ev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1013 Incidentally, with the...
