    Entune battery monitor

 Tony was trying to say that the car itself has an AT&T cellular data connection which it presumably uses to connect to Entune's servers and you're phone talks to those servers. Because it uses a cellular connection as long as the car is parked in an area with AT&T coverage, you should be...

Thanks for the update, Mike. I'll have to do the same thing.

ALL POSTS about Charge Timer Failure

Not only unsatisfying, but just plain wrong. The problem we are all having has nothing to do with EVSE timers not to mention people are having these problems with the Leviton chargers as well. There are probably a lot of us, including me, who have not complained to Toyota knowing that they are...

ALL POSTS about Charge Timer Failure

I am dealing with a bit of a special case because my Level 2 charger is only 16A (and thus the RAV4 wants to think it is Level 1 for some reason), but wonder if others see the following. If I plug in the car quickly while the center display is still showing the estimated start and stop times...

ALL POSTS about Charge Timer Failure

Hmmm, well I guess there goes that theory. Thanks for the information. Sorry, should have been more clear. It was conjecture on my part based on my observations with the charging on my EVSE and the statement that it was going to have problems after charging on 110V.

ALL POSTS - motor whine or "HUM" (Milling Sound)

I haven't noticed any hum, but haven't really been listening for it either and usually have the radio on. Maybe I have been distracted by the rattle in the dash that has been annoying me  . You're welcome to drive over to Long Beach and test drive mine if you want to compare.

ALL POSTS about Charge Timer Failure

Sounds like they changed the software to have the car assume it is charging at whatever voltage it was last charging at. If so, it really is only an 80% solution, but at least it is something.

ALL POSTS about Charge Timer Failure

I have been paying more attention to this charge time issue lately, and I do not know if it was mentioned here before, but it looks like the car thinks its plugged into 110V even on a 220V EVSE. If you plug in and then open the driver side door, the right screen comes on saying plugged in and...

Buying Clipper Creek CS-60 as a group

I am interested in getting one of these, but am in SoCal within EV driving distance of the seller. If I participated would it be possible to pick mine up separately or does the seller only want to deal with a single transaction, otherwise logistics-wise it may make more sense for me just to...

Are we stuck using the dealer for any work that req's a lift

Someone in another thread mentioned a special lift at the dealer. That coupled with the warning in the owners manual about using a scissor jack and proper placement of jack stands makes me think that a normal lift as found at a tire change shop would damage the battery. Is that correct? Are...

    Driving in B mode

Sorry, despite my wording I wasn't trying to call out your particular post and I think your post was pretty clear in what you meant. It was just my experience with other people outside this forum that seem to think it is indeed a lower gear (e.g. some of the sales people), so I prefer not to...

    Driving in B mode

I would say that B mode is not inherently less efficient, but if you use it incorrectly it can be. As you say braking unnecessarily wastes energy, but with proper accelerator control unnecessary braking can be eliminated and or at least minimized in both B and D mode.

    Driving in B mode

I actually prefer the Rav4 B mode to the Volt L mode. The Volt is not my primary car, so I imagine I could get used to the aggressive regen, but as an occasional driver of the Volt I find it needs much more fine muscle control to maintain my speed. Like learning clutch control, I'm sure muscle...

    Maintenance Guide

Unfortunately I have not seen a maintenance manual, so I do not know what is involved in a coolant change. This is pure speculation, but I have got to imagine that there is a drain point somewhere in the system which would not require battery removal.

    Maintenance Guide

When looking under the hood the other day I noticed that the traction battery and motor coolant reservoirs had a sticker stating to replace the coolant every 50,000 miles. I realized the maintenance booklet that comes with the car completely omits the service interval for these coolant loops...

Time to complain! My list of Rav4 EV shortcomings.

Well of course the bold part is true as i said cars I've driven ;) . My MINI has this feature. Most cars I have rented do as well, but they were all probably Ford or GM vehicles and maybe a few Kias. Nonetheless it was something I noticed and my question on power use remains.

Time to complain! My list of Rav4 EV shortcomings.

One thing I noticed is that when you turn the car off the radio turns off as well. Most newer cars I've driven including the Volt keeps the radio on for some length of time after the car is turned off. The question I have is do you use any more power parked with the Rav4 on assuming no climate...

Time to complain! My list of Rav4 EV shortcomings.

Agree with most of your criticisms. On the radio front, there is a toggle under the general settings that will keep the radio screen on all the time as opposed to timing out back to whatever screen you were on before. The other thing I didn't realize at first was that you can hold down the...

    Pre-Owned RAV4 EV

You should be able to buy a new one for that price. With the Toyota $10k discount, the government $10k (assuming you have enough tax liability), and the $2-3k the dealers are offering off MSRP that brings you right into the $28k range, plus you get 0% financing.

    Maintenance Guide

It states: "Maintaining your vehicle according to the recommendations in this booklet is required to ensure that your warranty coverage remains intact....Toyota will not deny a warranty claim solely because you do not have records to show that you maintained your vehicle. However, damage or...
