Can I charge in the garage

I agree, while it can be done, it's not worth dealing with the potential problems as a renter. If you can wait, I doubt the lease deal is going to get any worse and might get better 6 months from now. Also not taking out a car loan/lease right before purchasing a house will help your credit.

ALL POSTS - Heater Failed - Service Bulletin TSB 0111-14

The DC to DC converter is not just for the 12V system. It has multiple outputs including the cabin heater, the battery heater, and the AC compressor. Tony posted this pic of the DC to DC converter in another thread...

Guys, can you take this discussion outside (this thread)!

ALL POSTS - Heater Failed - Service Bulletin TSB 0111-14

I don't know, but the manual clearly says the AUX power only shows the 12V battery power consumption. I also wonder if the manual is accurate why they would scale the readout to 4kW.

The heater doesn't run on 12V so you are not going to see it's consumption on the AUX power screen.

    Charging port door stuck closed?

Well I took a closer look today and at least with the charge door open the pin retracts all the way. I could imagine with some friction the cable may flex instead of the pin retracting, but that's purely conjecture. I bent the metal piece that the pin inserts into a little so the pin...

    Charging port door stuck closed?

I'll have to take a closer look but I think I agree with Tony after him mentioning it. When it does stick for me and I eventually get it open after multiple pulls the door pops opens normally. I'm guessing a higher spring tension helps push past the not completely open latch pin. I would hope...

RavCharge, a solution to charge timer and entune woes

fooljoe, I think I followed you home for about 15 miles this evening unless there is someone else with a RAVCharge.com sticker on their rear window :P . I appreciate your efficient driving style :D

    What's this seatbelt/belt for?

It's the seat belt for the middle rear seat. It snaps into a connector that is close to the middle of the rear driver's side seat. Do a Google image search for rav4 middle seat belt.

RavCharge, a solution to charge timer and entune woes

You've probably already thought of this and while I probably don't need this as I haven't really pushed my range, it might be nice to incorporate Tony's data so that you have a complimentary display for the slider setting of mi/kwh to display average speed required to reach that efficiency. You...

RavCharge, a solution to charge timer and entune woes

Thanks for the info fooljoe. Yes, my car was parked in its usual place which should have good cell coverage and I do have entune set to send me all alerts. Before you changed the program to sense whether or not the car was plugged in I used to get several failed to start emails a night when I...

RavCharge, a solution to charge timer and entune woes

No I didn't get any failure emails so I am guessing that it was a failure to detect that the car was plugged in. Anyway with the backup departure time it charged fully well within super off peak, I just wanted to give you the feedback. Thanks again for a great web app!

RavCharge, a solution to charge timer and entune woes

I think RAVCharge wasn't able to initiate my charge last night. I have it set to start at 12:30 but it didn't start until 3:00 presumably due to the 8 am departure time I have set.

RavCharge, a solution to charge timer and entune woes

Thanks! My cellular internet connection is often very spotty in the building I work in. It also seems to freeze and take a while to re-establish even if the phone is reporting it has a cellular data connection, hence knowing that the RavCharge server received the request is helpful.

RavCharge, a solution to charge timer and entune woes

Thanks. I may be missing something but I guess I don't understand how the button indicates whether the server received the command or not. I can load the page, turn my internet off, press the climate start button, and it still says starting. I understand I get the pop up when the climate...

L2 EVSE 20amp assumed to be L1, can RavCharge help?

Yes, based on my and others experience if your EVSE is <= 20A it assumes you have a L1 charger. Based on that assumption the RAV4 will start charging extremely early. I found that if you plug the charge cord in, wait for it to start charging, and then remove and replug in the charge cord it...

RavCharge, a solution to charge timer and entune woes

Again great web app! I'll sign up for the year at that price and then see how it goes from there. One issue and one suggestion... my climate tab has been showing climate on for the last day or two. Obviously it hasn't been on continuously. It would also be nice to have some indication that...

Toyota Sees Underwhelming Future for All Electric Cars

I read his post and I read your post. I don't understand why you are attacking the guy. Again, he did not make any assertions about the reliability of the Prius. He just stated that he would like to see reliability data and his concern prompted him to buy a fully electric. You provided some...

    Charging Question

The difference between 240V and 208V. Toyota is probably assuming the worst case scenario.
