 Post subject: Our Rav4 Ev has hidden Front Tow Hooks Sockets?

I was wondering if it does could we not maybe weld a light weight cargo carrier to the hooks so it is on the front of the RAV4 EV? Essentially a front facing cargo carrier? Do you guys think it would be able to hold some decent weight?

Attaching anything significant to the front of the car is not a good idea. The sequence of impact is very important to the proper deployment of air bags. In addition, the front has the most significant impact to aerodynamics. Installing a cargo tray to a trailer hitch would have much less range impact than front mounted cargo.

Yes, there is the SINGLE hard point for a tow hook on the driver’s side.

No, you can’t access it without cutting a hole in the plastic painted bumper facia.

No, it’s a horrific idea to mount stuff on the front of the car.
