    Mitsubishi PREV Intro

Your correct it does have a fast charge capability. I understood that the car would not make it here until late in 2016 but just recently it was announced that it might make it here next year as a 2015 or early 2016. It may not look the greatest, though I understand it will get a mild update...

    Mitsubishi PREV Intro

Here is the email that I got from the UK. I wanted to get this car last year but it was put off for lack of batteries and brisk sales in Europe and Japan. I think it is a winner in that it has both battery and ICE, 4 wheel drive, and is a SUV. I really like my RAV4EV but really wanted this...

Japan: Auto industry gets behind charging stations

Here is the press release from Honda. Kind of interesting how the auto industry in Japan views electric vehicles. Corporate Japan May 30, 2014 Japan Automakers Advance Electric Charging Infrastructure with New Company, Nippon Charge Service -Established to help build charging infrastructure...

    New Owner Vehicle Setup

Great page. I did not realize that you can get the car to lock on placing the vehicle in drive. I take it Toyota has to use a special computer interface to make these kinds of changes? Manny

One less RAV4 EV on the road, I think...

They will wholesale it out, but I imagine there are not too many people who will buy it to rebuild or especially for parts. Might be interesting to see if they would give it back to you for a small amount of money. The problem is where do you put it and how do you keep the battery fresh. I...

    EV powerpros 40amp L2 EVSE

The nice thing about the Leviton 40 amp was that it was developed specifically for the Rav4EV. They guarantee the unit for 3 years and are large enough to be able to back that up. Not sure they would come out to Solvang if needed though that is a great place to visit. I love that shop with...

One less RAV4 EV on the road, I think...

Might be interesting to find out what the wholesale value will be for this Rav4EV. Do you know what kicked the cost over the current value of the car? Was the frame damaged? The picture looks like a fairly easy fix. Perhaps it is because there are not a lot of folks who have experience...

Why did Toyota build Rav4 EV? Why hydrogen after 2014 ?

I also see Hydrogen powered vehicles as a very long term solution. There are several problems with respect to H2 fuel. First producing it from a more complex molecule means it will take energy to create. Building tanks that can withstand accidents will be costly, and they consume space. The...

Thanks guys, I get the picture now. I will just make a short extension that way I won't mess with the quick 240.

The smallest Quick 240V from two 120V outlets?

OK, I have the 5-15 that came with the JESLA. That is a 110 volt plug. I understand from your testing that it will pass through 12 amps at 240 volts. How do I connect that plug to the hobble twist lock l6-20? Do I just take that out and put in a 110 volt receptacle? Thanks, Manny

The smallest Quick 240V from two 120V outlets?

Tony, I made up one of the quick 240 units following the recommended parts list. I was going to sell it as the Leaf is getting turned in on Saturday. I was interested in the recent testing you did with the JESLA. What adapter do I need to connect the JESLA into the quick 240. I think the...

    EV powerpros 40amp L2 EVSE

You have a number of options. I like the JESLA from Quick Charger Power. Great product and easy to use-about $1000 very portable. Check out Val's Premium unit at EMotorwerks that looks like a nice product. I have both the JESLA and the Leviton. The Leviton is nice in that it looks built in...

    Strange Charging Notification from Entune

$17,500 off by 1 Dec 2014, Production Ended August 2014

If you take the 2500 down payment and divide by 35 you get $71.42 add that to your payment and you get $517 per month. That is not a terrible deal. I ended up with a $497 with tax and lic and no money down when Toyota was providing $14,000 as an incentive. So now with the higher incentive you...

    Presurized hood lifts

sobayimage was kind enough to find a source for a pressurized hood lift that negates the need to hold a heavy hood while you try and put the small arm into the hood to hold it up. He had to do some drilling which did not excite me, so I looked around and found a source on eBay that is tailor...

Why did Toyota build Rav4 EV? Why hydrogen after 2014 ?

We are lucky in that we have a great vehicle for the price. I love the utility of the Rav4EV and especially like the Tesla drivetrain. The lease is a bit more than my Leaf but a lot more vehicle for the money. I could not be more pleased. Obviously getting the Rav4EV for $300 a month would...

    Strange Charging Notification from Entune

I noticed this morning that I received emails concerning the start and completion of charging. What was kind of strange is that I received three different notices. I had at least 90 miles remaining and all the segments were still lite prior to charging last night. At 3:37 AM the charging start...

Why did Toyota build Rav4 EV? Why hydrogen after 2014 ?

My paperwork indicates that my lease is Motor Vehicle Closed-End Lease Agreement. It also says I can purchase the vehicle at the end of the lease for $20,418. I do not have a lot of experience with leases but always understood that a closed ended lease was preferable to an open ended lease. I...

What is my RAV4 EV telling others?

Sobayimage, can you tell me a bit more about your modification of adding pneumatic struts to the front hood. I think that sucker is way too heavy. I would love to add pressurized struts. Can you tell us what you did and where you acquired them? Thanks, Manny

    Latest firmware? Tesla-1.3.101, Nav-VB503200, GPS-6/1/13

I didn't realize he was asking for documentation or a TSB on the latest Navigation software version. Much of the discussion has centered around the latest firmware. Also, I did not think that the navigation software is upgraded unless you pay for it.
