My turn for the Check EV message

I hope this is a typo. A close-up photo of these resistors (macro photography)? When viewed with magnification, are microcracks visible on these resistors? The condition of their connecting printed conductors and metallized holes (photo)? Checking their resistance and/or the change in...

My turn for the Check EV message

    Q. 1. Are there any results* of checking the sensor voltages when a) using different sensors; b) using an oscilloscope? *Reference of announcement: https://www.myrav4ev.com/threads/di_w020-di_f020.2653/post-31272. 2. What is the voltage between ENCG and Chassis GND in those short minutes when...

My turn for the Check EV message

+ -> If a voltage of 1.35V drops across a 20 Ohm resistance, then according to Ohm's law, a current of I = 1.35 : 20 ~ 0.067(A) flows through it. Isn't this too much current for this speed and direction sensor? (IMHO. Maybe two MRE Sensors*). In addition, we already know the output voltage of...

My turn for the Check EV message

!!! Thanks for info. Exceptional IMHO. In my vehicle I would connect the ENCG contact to the chassis ground via a 12V 1÷5W lamp. And I would check the system's behavior with such an additional connection. As I understand it, there is a missing or poor contact with the ground somewhere.

My turn for the Check EV message

Sir, please, let me know at Ready mode voltage between ENCG and Chassis ground. And between CG and SG pins of DLC3?

My turn for the Check EV message

What is the numerical value of the voltage difference between them? Voltage between ENSP pin (#9) of D14 connector and Chassis ground? Voltage between ENSP pin (#4) of D1 connector and Chassis ground? https://alflash.com.ua/2019/to_rav4ev/w_sp_sens.png It would be useful to track and compare...

My turn for the Check EV message

Note: Toyota uses two related but separately implemented ground (negative) circuits. CG mean Chassis Ground and SG - Signal Ground. https://alflash.com.ua/2019/to_rav4ev/obd2_0290.jpg Check the voltage between these two contacts in the diagnostic connector, which Toyota calls DLC3 Sometimes...

Charging stopped due to system malfunction

I think the opinion that this RAV4EV heater uses PTC elements is wrong.

Charging stopped due to system malfunction

I assumed that factual confirmation and photo illustration would be useful when searching for a "donor" to replace a faulty heater.

Charging stopped due to system malfunction

From the series "made on the knee" (selfmade devices) :) Perhaps someone will find useful a simulator* of cabin heater control signals with duty cycle adjustment without noticeable influence on their repetition frequency. For example, for direct control of this heater "manually". *Scheme from...

There is a small but non-zero probability of (intermittent) poor contact in these connections (1 case).

Can you check the signal/voltage passage between connectors D1 (speed sensor) and D14 (drive inverter) https://www.myrav4ev.com/threads/charging-stopped-due-to-system-malfunction.2692/page-5#post-32002 ? Voltage on D1 connector...

PMC ECU is easy to recognize by the appearance/design of its connectors as was show images in https://www.myrav4ev.com/threads/charging-stopped-due-to-system-malfunction.2692/page-7#post-32108 About Ford cabin heater in RAV4EV was post FB (link was censored)...

Charging stopped due to system malfunction

Note. The Leaf heater board uses a second connector of unknown purpose to me (in the photo it is on the left). Just a statement of fact. The RAV4EV heater board only uses one connector (12V power and RMI control signal). Although there is space on the board for this connector.

Charging stopped due to system malfunction

Off-topic. Can you use DC12V* to AC110/220V Inverter** and tens of kW from HV batteries of your RAV4EV vehicles? *https://www.myrav4ev.com/threads/12v-output-limit.828/#post-30416 ** For example, https://www.amazon.com/Inverter-Converter-Voltage-Transformer-Display/dp/B0C4F1NMGF/

Charging stopped due to system malfunction

    1. As I can see from the structural diagram (datasheet of ATA6624) of the RMI signal receiver, a current source* is included in its input circuit. 2. In this case, it is more correct to determine the current through an external resistor using Ohm's law: I = Urch: Rch (3.38V: 1500 Ohm =...

Charging stopped due to system malfunction

    1. Measuring currents less than 1A with current clamps with a limit of 40A is a guarantee of inaccurate results. In addition, it is imperative to perform a zero value calibration before measuring. 2. Illustration of a previously conducted checking...

Charging stopped due to system malfunction

The duty cycle of the RMI pulses changes depending on the required heating value and probably on the difference between the set and actual temperatures. And the "brains" (CPU) of cabin heater convert its value into control signals for groups of heaters elements.

Charging stopped due to system malfunction

That video was made a year ago to demonstrate how to check the cabin heater after repairing its control board. So I don't have an answer to your question. I assume that when the cabin heating is turned off, RMI voltage will be as in the photo in my previous answer. I repeat once again, I don't...
