ALL POSTS - Heater Failed - Service Bulletin TSB 0111-14

Is the heater assembly really $2,235.07? https://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/oem/toyota~bracket~sub~assy~he~87101-42010.html Is there some other generic available for less or just the heating element from DENSO? Looks like I will be getting by with the seat heaters. Too bad none on the rear...

    Self depleeting 12v

Really need a clamp-on DC ammeter. Maybe $50(USD) for local hardware brand, quality would be Fluke but not needed. Must read DC, the cheap ones are just AC. An electrician friend would have one for testing. When my interface computer failed the battery was drained overnight with a 2 amp draw...

    Self depleeting 12v

Fairly typical from what I read that the heater and DC/DC converter often quit at the same time. I recommend some type of small ( 2 amp to 10 amps rated) automatic battery charger should be put on the 12v battery every night until you get this sorted out.

Same 93 miles on both standard and extended mode

Mine has 52,000 and the DTE showed 128 miles this afternoon with extended range on and climate control off. Yes the extended range option adds less and less as the battery ages. And the range meter does fluctuate day to day in about a two week cycle of dropping and then popping back up. Cold...

    Replace battery coolant

Considering the relatively low temperature I keep thinking it should be good for a decade.

Lease Return? What would you do?

I don't need forever... Just until something near equivalent is produced. I cross my fingers every day.

Federal Tax Credit spread out over multiple years

Single year against TOTAL income tax not just the April payment. Otherwise consider a lease if a credit is given for the tax adjustment. New vehicles only so does not really apply to any RAV4-EV. Not a CPA but I have filed a few returns.

Lease Return? What would you do?

If I had Jademo installed and the car was not a problem child I would buy it. Plan to keep it 2 to 5 years until the flood of EVs hits the market.

lease returns SCRAPPED ? could this be true ?

Business as usual. The sooner this experiment is unwound, the better for Toyota.

ALL POSTS - GOM - Range Meter - Distance To Empty meter

I have noticed that if I stick to my 22 mile round trip commute the GOM seems to sag over time. Then I go on a 110 mile drive and the range pops back up. Whatever.

Charger failure: Toyota puts the WAR in Warranty

Carson Toyota pulled the first two out when I had installed a larger aftermarket 12 volt battery. (Bosch AGM group 24) Would not look at my car until a new genuine Toyota battery was in to the tune of $200 and change. Never even found the issue... Irvine Toyota after several flatbeds finally...

    2014 RAV4 EV

If you have selected extended range charge that is all you can do. The DTE meter will track your driving habits and adjust accordingly. Could reset by disconnecting the 12v battery overnight. Still going to have the same range... just the indicator resets. Otherwise just drive nice for a couple...

About to buy a a certified 2014 from dealer

Moving out of CA: sell or keep?

If the family is on-grid you should be able to get 30 to 40 amps L2 at the house. You are not going to drive 200 round trip for 2 hour visit are you?

Moving out of CA: sell or keep?

Since you paid for the warranty and have not had trouble I would keep it. Yes it might be a bit of extra effort if work need to be done. Worst case you trade it in (WI) and move on.

Tony-Test: How to Calculate Rated Range/Battery Degradation

The deduction for the A/C is also reset. No, Eco-Hi should not actually take that much. Deduction should adjust back to what it was before the test in a week or two. I have stopped using eco A/C in the Summer as it has been said the standard mode provides better battery cooling.

ALL POSTS - GOM - Range Meter - Distance To Empty meter

No that part seems to be working. Makes me want to check the voltage though. Toyota battery is only a year old. Today the extended range charge said 147 miles :) Not sure that is real.... 48,000 on the odometer and the battery suddenly is back to new.
