Are they both the same generation of Siemens EVSE? There was both a firmware update on the older version (VC30BLK), and more substantive changes to make a newer version VC30GRY ? . Suggest you call Siemens with the serial number of the one that doesn't work.

I have the Michelin Energy Savers on a smaller EV - they were OEM tires and wore well. Replaced at 51 or 52K, I can't quite remember.

There could easily be a 10% drop. Whether this is a deal breaker depends on your situation. "Savings" from submetering also depends on your situation. For some, the EV whole house rate works well (E-1 + EV-B vs EV-A) (PGE example).

EV usage needs to be measured at the revenue meter. There is no other location that can accurately implement a different rate for EV charging. Losses in wiring, etc make measurement at the EVSE (any brand) useless for this purpose.

LADWP allows, or allowed, dual-meter adapters. Install a second utility meter for EV use (at the existing meter socket)… connect the EVSE … Done. And billing still works! Gov't didn't need to mandate another system.

I never received the promised free JB. This and other honest comments are on my Nexant/CPUC survey form.

Please be honest in your Nexant/CPUC survey responses. Mine says "I signed up for the PEV Pilot because of the free JB, and where the hell is my free JB?".

I think my warning/advice to read the other thread is more than fair. I also returned a pilot JB and got a refund. To tell people EMW took full payment for a product they weren't prepared to deliver, is also fair. We don't broach unfair until we ask what happened to all those returned JBs...

Before you start holding your breath waiting for your money from EMW, I suggest you read the PEV pilot thread where they reneged on the free juice box.

That's an article that wouldn't get a passing grade in Freshman Journalism class. I think the title would be more correct with "I get paid 25c/word and I need enough money for my electric bill."

What does it cost you to return the car early? You leave the next driver with not many miles under warranty, so they either need to buy an extended warranty or pay for any needed repairs through the end of the lease.
