    Steering wheel lights

I thought I remembered that the other buttons lit up also - hard to recall after the car has been sitting at the dealer for 4 months waiting for a new motor. Are you certain?

    Steering wheel lights

Thanks! Just went to look at the owner's manual online - picture doesn't match what's inside my dashboard at all. No labels on anything in there either. I hate to run to the dealer just for a fuse. I could start just pulling them and putting them back, but I also don't want to lose stuff...

    Steering wheel lights

Does anyone know if the lights in the controls on the steering wheel are on a separate fuse, and if they are, which one and where the panel is? If they aren't (i.e. if your steering wheel doesn't light up then your dome light shouldn't work either or something like that) then I guess it has to...

ALL POSTS - motor whine or "HUM" (Milling Sound)

I'm hoping to convince them to pre-order the parts, once we find out which parts. It's getting much louder, and range shorter, and now there's a deceleration vibration, but it's still driveable.

Owners: Would you recommend buying a used Rav4 EV?

I love mine, but I wish I'd gotten one with less mileage even if it cost a bit more. I charge at home with a Juicenet Pro, full 40A, and I have solar and a TOU plan so I pay much less at night for electricity. One thing about doing your own maintenance - touch the wrong thing in an EV...

    Tires

These Yokos seem to be giving me a bit of a rough ride, but I can't tell if that's the tires or my developing DU problem. Fortunately, I bet against myself and got a service plan with the car, so now it's just an issue of convincing them that it needs replacing, and with a range of 66 with the...

ALL POSTS - motor whine or "HUM" (Milling Sound)

About 59K, but it was on 50K when I got it. Brand new, the range on these cars was 91/114.

ALL POSTS - motor whine or "HUM" (Milling Sound)

I really hope this car isn't turning into a money pit. Overnight, GOM reading on full normal charge changed from around 74 to around 66, and loud whine developed, seems to be relative to acceleration. Before anybody starts on GOM reliability, I watched it for a few days to see if it was...

    Tires

Thanks. From what I can tell, the Yokos aren't LRR either. The Michelins on the front are LRR, but the Dunlops on the back aren't - I'm thinking the dealer was forced to replace the tires because of California law (tires have to have 1/2 their tread left when car is sold), so he got the...

    Roof rack?

Yep, that's the after market rails I have. Crossbars are different, mine stick out past the rails and have locks. The RAV handled a 65 pound fishing kayak with a slight loss in range (used about 1.5 miles per mile traveled with the boat on it).

    Tires

So, right rear tire has slow leak, took it to tire place. Of course, can't be patched (never had a tire that could, I think they're lying about patching them). Anyway, discovered that front tires and back tires are not the same brand, and the ones on the back are not LRR. Many questions...

    Portable solar trickle charger

The adapter looks sturdy, but I have yet to see even one Tesla supercharger anywhere in town, and for $260 I need to know about at least one place I could use it. 6kw isn't full on, but it's a lot better than the 1.4kw you can get from a standard outlet (if it doesn't trip the breaker).

    Portable solar trickle charger

Thanks for info - did not know there were chargers at rest stops here, will have to look up which ones. Range and charging speed of the RAV without a JDemo make it impractical to drive SD->SF or SD->LV, but with a charge along the way SD->LA or SD->TJ might be doable. I notice the Yetis are...

    Strange GOM behavior

It never would have occurred to me to search at Home Depot for a car battery, even though I ordered my kayak from Lowe's. And I have no idea why that other battery doesn't come up for me on Amazon. Maybe having prime changes the search results? Anyway, thanks for those.

    Portable solar trickle charger

Well, I think your inflated estimate is just naysaying, but even at my estimate, it's far too high to be a marketable product, and flexible solar panels need reduction in weight and cost for it to be workable as well. And current battery/inverter technology would make either the weight or cost...
