Re: New California Corridor Fast Chargers Installed

I did see the Maxwell charger when stopping at the rest stop (i was surprised, i didnt know they had them this far north). I was northbound at the time. The charger is right in front of the enclosure for the restrooms. Theres only one of them (CHADemo & CCS). It appeared to be online but i could...

Re: Hello to the Remaining Rav4 EV Owners Out There

Well hello there! Original Rav4 owner here, mine visited the shop in San Diego for a motor rebuild recently and runs like a top! (actually it sounds kinda like a top i suppose too...) Love the car. If you want to see a large # of Rav4EVs, try Tony's shop (which is right near you). He always has 4 or...

Re: Leviton EVSE issue

yeah i definately dont have a problem in the outlet, wiring or breaker. (I can run the new EVSE on the same plug forever at 7KW for instance). I didnt take the actual cable and charging plug apart though which might be a thing to try. I looked for any discoloration in the EVSE when i took it apart, ...

Leviton EVSE issue

So i have a Leviton EVSE that ive had since probably 2013. Recently it started tripping the breaker when charging (after about 45 min). What i see is that the energy supplied goes up (to higher than the charger ever uses) about 11-12KW and then the breaker trips. I was replacing the charger today wi...

Re: Cannot charge

i feel very fortunate that mine (92K miles now and out of warranty) hasnt had any of these weird issues (did have a motor replacement early in its life though). This another reason to have JDEMO on the car btw. It provides another way to charge, if you can reach a compatible charger when something l...

Re: New California Corridor Fast Chargers Installed

so its been awhile since ive connected my Rav4EV to a DCFC but now that that there are all these faster-than-50KW DCFC chargers that might have compatable connectors, what happens when you connect a JDEMO equipped Rav4EV to one? Does it negotiate down to 50KW or does the car explode in a flaming bal...

Re: New California Corridor Fast Chargers Installed

A unique station was installed in Lodi just off CA-99 at E. Kettleman Lane. This is a dual standard charger that can charge CHAdeMO and CCS simultaneously. It has an integrated battery pack and a relatively small grid connection. It is described in this InsideEVs story . The maximum CCS power is st...

Re: New California Corridor Fast Chargers Installed

does anyone here use abetterrouteplanner.com?
I used it for my trip (in the Tesla) to Texas and Iowa and back and it was awesome. VERY accurate.
You will have to figure out your battery degradation to use it correctly though.

Re: 2013 Rav4 EV Owner Since 2016 - Owner Experience

I just passed 90K miles with my 2013 that i've owned since it was new and its still perking along. I have JDEMO on it but i dont use it that much (because now i live in the Sierra's full time since retiring and i rarely drive anywhere thats far enough i need to charge away from home. The only time i...
