Re: just before the extended warranty runs out - buy another?

I just got a quote on a Toyota Platinum warranty, but the dealer said it didn't cover the battery. Is this true? I have 79K mi, I think the value of these policies is the risk of battery problems. My battery was replaced 4 years ago due to a bad contactor inside. I hate to pay ~$3K and then have th...

Re: just before the extended warranty runs out - buy another?

Hi Al, Thanks for your post, guess you got the Platinum too. I was looking at my expired one, they sent a nice little book after I bought it. I bought it Dec 5 2016 just before you bought yours, but the activation date was my original purchase date. The Platinum that I got has agreement type new $0...

Re: New California Corridor Fast Chargers Installed

The other thing I've noticed recently is that ChargePoint has been ripping out their original 50kW CP200 chargers that were installed at their corridor sites and made by Tritium. They have been replaced with the CP250 chargers that are made by ChargePoint. Unfortunately, they don't seem to be repair...

Re: Anyone else lose Entunes functionality?

Question Regarding Charge management: While I don't have all the specifics, I am aware that many of the functions of the Entunes are going away with the demise of 3G. My question is about the charge management, which no longer seems to be available. What I want to be able to do is to charge our Rav...

Re: Introducing OVMS for RAV4 EV

I think you have the Ethernet connected to the wrong side. My understanding is that the Ethernet is coming out of the gateway on its way to the blue DLC3 connector. I think if you wire it as shown, there won't be any link, you will just be wired to the normally empty blue DLC3 connector.

Re: Introducing OVMS for RAV4 EV

I don't see any utility in bringing out the Ethernet from the Gateway. My understanding is that everything on there is also on the CAN buses. The only utility is if you want to remote connect with "our friend in Ukraine". I don't completely discount the need for termination since I occasio...

Re: My own experiences fixing a RAV4 EV not charging/fuse blown issue

I have a battery discharge tester that can absorb a controlled current. Put a power supply on the other side of the fuse and we should be able to measure the mV drop across the fuse with various currents. I am in Silicon Valley.

Re: Introducing OVMS for RAV4 EV

I'm hopeful that miimura will respond to my questions of 25Mar, as I can't collaborate without communication. But, yes, I'm holding the hardware + 4G antenna: the easy part. Matt provided the detailed cable information above. All of my current code is checked into the master branch on GitHub, but y...

Re: Upgrade Complete: Updating Software and Moving Servers

I always use the "Active Topics" function. I don't like that it's buried under Quick Links now.
