    Intermittent propulsion - new motor

Finally heard Friday that Tesla is shipping a new motor. No ETA on when it will arrive, but at least I now have hope.

    Intermittent propulsion - new motor

Wow! I am floored with your experience. My RAV4 has been at Toyota El Cajon since Oct 14, 2017 with the exact same issue and they are still going back and forth with Tesla....Carlos is still the tech and they told me they had 7 EVs I. The service dept. at one point and are now down to 3. I have...

Poor acceleration from stop - speed sensor?

Update from dealer: gateway ECU installed this week. However, while test driving a new a Check EV light came on. Back to the drawing board as predicted by forum members. Still in rental car. My EV is under platinum warranty so no idea who is paying for the repairs....but it’s not me.

2012 RavEV in shop for more than 3 weeks???

My 2014 has been at Toyota El Cajon since Oct 14 waiting on a replacement gateway ECU. I’m also driving a rental as they have no estimate on when the part will arrive from Tesla. Prior to this, it was at the same dealer three times for various engine check problems...this is the first time...

Poor acceleration from stop - speed sensor?

Still driving a rental from Toyota of El Cajon while we wait for the back-ordered gateway ECU part to arrive. They have no idea when it will get there.... They said they will give me the diagnostic report when the car is ready for pickup and I will then post it here.

Poor acceleration from stop - speed sensor?

    They gave me zero diagnostics.....

Poor acceleration from stop - speed sensor?

Car has been at dealer for two weeks now and it looks like Toyota and Tesla have worked out whatever issue was holding up diagnosis. Toyota tech says bad gateway ECU and they are now waiting on Tesla to confirm so they can get the part. Hopefully they are correct and since this is a known...

Poor acceleration from stop - speed sensor?

My car has been at the dealer for a week and still no diagnosis. Apparently the “code” used by Toyota to diagnose information from the computer comes, in part, from Tesla. Access to that code/programming has been disabled for all Toyota dealers by Tesla...some sort of expiration? Now Toyota is...

Poor acceleration from stop - speed sensor?

So it only took three days for the problem to show up again. And now with more dash warnings... I drove to work (3 miles) with no problems. Went out at lunch and car started fine but acceleration problem was almost immediate. Powered off for 5 minutes and started again. This time would not go...

Poor acceleration from stop - speed sensor?

Just picked up the car from Toyota El Cajon. Two codes...ECU P312F on the Toyota side and ECU CHGU003 on the Tesla side. Related to the propulsion system as far as I can tell. Tesla told them to charge up the battery and drive for 10 miles. If no recurrence, then its fixed. WTF?? It was...

Poor acceleration from stop - speed sensor?

Wondering if anyone has seen this issue before... My 2014 has twice experienced poor acceleration with the attending "Check EV System" error while taking off from a stop sign/light. Both times I had driven the car a short distance and parked for a few minutes (while picking up a friend). On...

New limitation on Platinum Warranty for in-warranty vehicles

Thanks miimura! The car was under the original 3 yr/36K factory warranty but my guess is this specific Toyota dealership simply didn't want to offer the 8yr/125K Platinum for the EV even though it was for sale at their dealership. No biggie...I went with Steve at Toyota of Poway and he was...

Just a quick shout out to all of the forum members...your posts were invaluable to me as I researched my new EV and based on what I learned here, I got a great deal on a 2104 Blizzard Pearl with 32K miles and a *new* Toyota Platinum warranty to boot! :D Can't wait to start posting as an...

New limitation on Platinum Warranty for in-warranty vehicles

Looking to buy a 2014 RAV 4 EV still under factory warranty from private party but local Toyota dealer says they can only sell a "new" Platinum warranty for 6 yr/72K because the vehicle is not certified pre-owned. They say that is the "max Toyota Financial" will do on a "non-CPO" still under...
