Cheapest RAV4 EV Toyota Extended Warranty

That's pretty steep! Can anybody share direct contact of east coast folks that sell 8yr/100k for under $1200? I've got another month to go, need to start working on this. I have friends in MA and can use their address, so in-state requirement shouldn't be a dealbreaker, even though I would...

    Has anyone replaced their wipers?

I'm wondering if Toyota is replacing the wiper blades during the recall, too, does anyone know for sure? Feels kind of wasteful to me to replace wipers right before I go in for the recall remediation only to let Toyota throw the new ones away.

Buying new tires...anyone done this already

Just got back from Costco Richmond, CA. Got a set of Ecopia 422+ online, and they refused to install them due to speed rating being 102T. They had Ecopia H/L 422 (102H speed rating) in stock, but couldn't apply the same promo that I used online. Went home and got a new set of H/L tires, waiting...

Longer Range Battery / Extra battery

Tony, after seeing some of the salvaged Rav4 EV battery packs on eBay - I wonder how much the upgrades would be (roughly) if we provide you with Rav4 original cells (likely there would be enough good cells for 18kwh increase, and I won't be getting more than that). Also, will JDEmo/L2 charger...

Any other Rav4ev owners make a Model 3 deposit?

I *just* ordered mine. Don't know how I forgot about the event at all, but after seeing the unveiling I didn't hesitate a second. At $35K before incentives - this is a great price point, even if we have to pay another 2-3K for both supercharger access and autopilot mode. The lease on my Rav4...

Grant awarded California Tahoe/Truckee EV Planning

Great to see this happening, but it's still a bummer that it's only some planning work, that's going to start in 6 months. Outcome is probably around 2 years away. I hope somebody will put a few more CHADEMOs in between Peninsula and Tahoe before that.

Help-Sign the petition for long-distance DCFC network in CA!

Signed and sent to our workplace EV mailing list - this is the only other community I take part in. Thanks a lot guys for starting this, I really hope we can make impact.

    Rear bumper deforming

I have exactly the same issue, and I think it was there when I picked up the car. I think the suggestion about taking it to a dealer is a good one, however I backed into things a couple of times already, so my cover is already damaged a bit in other places. Don't think any dealer would now...

    Voice Recognition is practically useless

I connect my iPhone to USB cable every time I'm in the car, and use the "Hey Siri" command for completely touchless experience. It doesn't work perfectly yet, but at least I know it'll be improving over time unlike Rav4 system. The only issue with this setup is iPhone has to be plugged in...

Your tax dollars at work- building hydrogen fueling stations

As an alien in this country, I'm surprised to see cases like the iPad LA program being publisized, while this one remains quiet still. I guess funding here is a bit less than 1B but nevertheless is significant. However, impact I think is much more dramatic, as this steers entire industry towards...

    Latest firmware? Tesla-1.3.101, Nav-VB503200, GPS-6/1/13

How often does Toyota usually issue updates? From what I can tell the Nav firmware is over a year old, and it's the latest one mentioned in this thread. Isn't it kinda old?

Buying new tires...anyone done this already

After reading this thread, I now too am thinking about getting new tires right away, and using the original ones when turning the car in, if I decide to do so, or selling right away. I currently have 2k on odometer, so the tires are newish. Does anyone know: - If Toyota expects new tires when...

Rav4 EV owner funded CHAdeMO's, SBA to SJC

That's a pretty extensive study. Not a lot of focus around i5 fast charging, but it is mentioned as a good thing. There are also challenges listed with this kind of charging infrastructure, but I think that overall recommendation from what I understood is positive that i5 needs to be equipped...

We are number 2: How fast are those electric cars.

Having been in i3 order waiting list, I've never realized until now that Rav4 does 0-60 faster despite being heavier and having less powerful (in horsepowers) engine. What is so different about Tesla motors that make a less powerful drivetrain produce more torque? Or is it just a limitation for...

Why did Toyota build Rav4 EV? Why hydrogen after 2014 ?

Yep, I believe most people who bought this car new this right away. My dealer appeared not to, but who knows :) It's clearly a bummer that Toyota doesn't believe in EVs. If their compliance car is so good - imagine what they could do if they had commitment to EVs like Nissan or BMW do.
