Someone in another thread mentioned a special lift at the dealer. That coupled with the warning in the owners manual about using a scissor jack and proper placement of jack stands makes me think that a normal lift as found at a tire change shop would damage the battery. Is that correct? Are we then relegated to using the dealer for such things as tire changes and rotations? The owners manual shows how to jack the car up from the front or back, but would a normal tire change shop be able to do that? It certainly complicates a tire rotation without jack stands.

I've already had mine on aloft, and it is a pain because they have the battery mounts right next to the jack mounting pads.

No, you don't need to rely on the dealer, but don't expect the pimple nose kid at the cheapie tire shop to know or care about your battery.
